What Is Sky Glass Air For?

Sky introduced Air to solve two significant customer barriers with Gen 1 and Gen 2: high upfront monthly financing costs and extreme chassis weight. Air is designed to be an accessible, plug-and-play screen for bedrooms, home offices, and kitchens, or for budget-conscious living room viewers.

Sizes and Colours

Sky Glass Air is manufactured in the same three screen sizes: 43", 55", and 65". Finishes are simplified to modern matte neutral tones: Cotton White, Carbon Grey, and Soft Gold.

Ports and Connections (Why eARC Matters)

Because Air features 2.0 stereo speakers rather than an Atmos soundbar, its HDMI 2 (eARC) port is crucial. If you ever wish to upgrade your audio for action movies, you can connect an external compact soundbar (like a Sonos Ray, Sonos Beam, or Bose TV Speaker) via eARC and control volume seamlessly using the Sky Glass remote. Read more in apps and connections.

Stand and Mounting

At just 10.5kg for the 43-inch, Air is easily handled by one person. It uses standard slim dual-leg feet or an optional center pedestal, and mounts cleanly to standard stud walls using inexpensive VESA brackets.

Features and Limitations

Air includes the full Entertainment OS suite: the unified TV guide, cloud Playlist, voice search via the remote, and third-party app integration. However, it does not support the Sky Live camera and does not feature far-field microphones on the cabinet.

How Air Differs From Gen 2

Air cuts cost, eliminates 35% of the weight, and removes the heavy 250W soundbar. For a point-by-point head-to-head, read Sky Glass Gen 2 vs Air.

Is Air a Good Second-Room TV?

Yes—in fact, this is where Air truly shines. For a bedroom or kitchen, you do not need 250W of sound shaking the floorboards, and the lighter profile sits comfortably on standard dressers or corner brackets.

Who Is Air Best Suited To?

Air is the best option for viewers on a tight monthly budget (£6/month vs £14/month for Gen 2), buyers who already own a soundbar, and anyone seeking a clean, hassle-free secondary TV.
